Homemade Bolognese

To make this you will be needing to gather:

  • 1 Pack Pasta (brand was: Linguini but any pasta will do)
  • 1/2 kilo Ground Beef
  • A few teaspoons of brown sugar
  • Himalayan Salt (but, you know, if you don’t have this, any salt will do 😀 )
  • 6 Onions (Add how much you would want in your sauce)
  • 2 Garlics  (Add more if you want)
  • 1 Canned Tomato
  • 7 Real Tomato (not canned)
  • 1 Adult Carrot
  • Worchester Sauce
  • Fish Sauce

Now, onto the action!:

First things first:

Cook 5 strands of bacon and cut into small squares

Ground Beef

Peel then saute 3 whole chopped onions into a pan. When the onion is light brown, add the ground beef, sprinkle with salt, put two teaspoons of fish sauce and then add 5 pieces of Laurel leaf. Mix the bacon with the ground beef. When you are finished, set aside.

Next, gather all the ingredients and start by boiling a pot of water. If you want your water to boil at a quicker pace (I don’t know who wouldn’t), I suggest covering the pot with the cover.

Second step:

Peel the garlic and onion. Then, chop the garlic and onions into small pieces (unless you like eating your onion and garlic whole, some people do 🙂 ). If you have a chopper use it. Also, try keeping a small trash bag beside while you cut so that it will be much simpler to clean up. Thanks to my two sisters who helped in peeling the garlic. Set aside

Very usefull.

Third step:

Wait, I have a recommendation! If your pot or whatever you are boiling in is really small then, if you are using the straight long pasta then break it in half.

If your water is boiling, then place the pasta in and time it. You might know this but for different pastas there are different minutes each should be timed. So, once you unwrap your pasta, don’t throw your pasta wrapper too soon to check how many minutes to cook. I timed my pasta for 8 minutes (my brand was Linguini). Don’t forget to put in 3 drops of olive oil and sprinkles of salt in the boiling water with the pasta.

While waiting for your water to boil, clean up your surroundings.

Fourth step:

Wash your tomatoes and carrot and dice it. Set aside.

In a separate pan, start sauteing your onions. Can you smell the onions? Smells so gooood. Once your onions are cooked, add in a teaspoon of sugar. This will caramelize your onion!

Next, mix in all your chopped garlic with the onions, when these are slightly brown, mix in all your tomatoes. You will need to stir every now and then. Once your tomato is cooked and soft, add you super chopped carrotts. The smaller the carrot is, the easier it takes to cook it.

Sixth step:

Tomato Sauce

When your onion, garlic, tomato and carrots are cooked, add in your canned tomato, evenly spread two teaspoons of fish sauce, 1/2 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of worschester sauce. When this is done cooking, add a sprinkle of fresh parsley on top, spanish paprika and cayenne pepper.

Seventh step:

Prepare the bowl:

  1. Twist a portion of the pasta and place in a bowl (to remain warm longer)
  2. Top of your twisted pasta with the tomato sauce.
  3. Put your ground beef on top of your tomato sauce
  4. Sprinkle with Olive oil, Cayenne Pepper, Spanish Paprika
  5. Put basil on top of everything
  6. Enjoy.
