Today I shall teach you how to make Vanilla Extract.
It’s a short then long process…
What you will be needing:
- Vanilla Beans
Depending on how big your jar is you will need different amounts of vanilla bean. For example, as for me, I only used this small, pretty, see – through jar which I only used one vanilla. If you are to use a big mason jar then you will probably be needing to use like 4 – 5 beans. Also, it depends on how strong you want your extract to be… explore!
What to do:
Once you are finished setting up everything on your table, get your vanilla beans and cut it open. You will notice small dots inside, you have to scrape these out, all you will be needing is the stick. Remember, scrape all the beans out. Set aside.
Fill your jar up with vodka. Simple, right? ~__^ You should leave a gap near the top because if you place you vanilla bean inside it might overflow….
Place your vanilla beans inside (hopefully not overflown) and let it rest for about 3 weeks to really let it set. But, the more vanilla beans inside the faster it takes to make the taste set.
